Ascending
from the root we encounter the second or sacral chakra namely the sacral or sexual centre.
The Sanskrit name for this chakra is the "Svadhisthana" and means "sweetness" or
"one's own abode".
This energy centre, your second chakra bank account (energy storage) relates to issues of power in the external world - specifically, financial and sexual power as well as the power in terms of business and social interactions.
It is positioned close to the Muladhara midway between the pubis and the navel therefore some functions are shared between the two. It remains inactive until puberty.
Frustration both sexual and creative can be generated here when the life energies are blocked.

When this chakra awakens it brings increased powers of intuition. It is also said to bring awareness of the astral form.
When two people make love the energy from their sex chakras mix. Two people, who really love each other, create a fantastic aura around them when making love - it can be compared to a forest of fairytale trees, whose flowers and leaves create an arc above the lovers. This emanates such powerful vibrations, that a lot of negative karma can be burned away.
Awakening the sacral chakra can affect the sex drive dramatically, either positively or negatively. In each case the effects are normally short-lived and stabilise as the energies settle.
