Right now I am sitting at home, overlooking the sea, in the middle of a "working day" writing this, while my husband is already busy working on our second website. Yes! We also work together! See more about us HERE!

Just writing that sentence makes me realise how lucky I am!

But let me confess something... abundance wasn't mine and my life wasn't always like this and when I realised my own answer to my earlier question I was angry!

I'm knocking on fifties door and since a very young age, I have had an incredible passion to work with natural healing energies.

However, the pressure of parental expectations in the 1980's, coupled with very little communication and real opportunities in my small town, pushed me take the "usual" route. I ended up choosing a career that I felt would gain approval, be safe and hopefully give me the abundance I wanted. My first job was as a clerk in the bank - no abundance here, then a stay at home mom with no income and when my husband opened his own restaurant I started helping out in the business.

Hey! Here I was, slogging 18 hours a day, 7 days a week, no time for the children let alone myself and we barely scraped together a living - abundance... what abundance?

Now, let me ask you a personal question... don't you also feel angry doing a job you don't enjoy, having no quality family time barely scraping a living together from pay check to pay check and lifestyle... what lifestyle?

Now keep in mind that working in the restaurant my skills and abilities were purely food orientated. So you can imagine my surprise when Alice, a very good friend of mine, suggested that I look into starting a business on the internet. She told me that she had her own internet business and her enthusiasm was amazing.

Well... you might as well have suggested to me to pilot a spaceship! Result, I let her suggestion go.

You're probably wondering where this is going... well, after numerous objections, another then another "stinker" of a month as far as our finances were concerned, my stress levels and blood pressure shooting through the roof... I tentatively put my doubts aside, phoned her for more information and switched my laptop on.

Can you imagine my surprise and excitement as I realised that her solution seemed like something I could possibly do... at last abundance could be mine!

I could build a website about energy and healing, the one thing that has been with me consistently throughout my life. It was a chance to get all that information and passion out of my head and from what Alice told me... could be a great income too.

The only catch was that I knew nothing about the internet. How could I build a website and earn money from it? Then it hit me. If my friend who couldn't even switch on her laptop when she first bought it can be a success, I was sure I stood half a chance, I could at least switch on the computer and I had a husband that knew more than a little bit about computers and some such stuff.

I Can Do It, Too!

But...

At this time disaster struck, my husbands landlord had sold the building in which we had our restaurant and we were notified that when our lease was up - in 3 months time - the new owner would not consider renewal as he was planning a development on the property.

Being in a small coastal town with very limited opportunities, I remember telling my hubby all about this new opportunity - an INTERNET Business. This was "sink or swim" time for us, we could afford one year to set up the website and if it didn't work we will have to go to plan B." (What Plan B?)
