You will notice that in the different books on crystal healing, the healing properties and powers of gemstones detail so many virtues to each stone that one might be inclined to think that any crystal can cure any disease.  

After deep study, comparisons and my own experience in crystal healing it would appear that in many cases of duplicated healing properties; either the colour or the composition of the stone has indicated its appropriateness for a specific disease.

Remember that crystal healing and crystal healing properties is not an exact science, yes there are guidelines, proven, which I am going to pass on to you, but the issue is you.  With crystal healing your intuition, your love, your connectedness to the energies will guide you to make the right choices in every situation. As you grow, as you continue on your journey to enlightenment so the choices will become easier.

Crystal Healing Properties for use in Crystal Healing

AMBER - Also known as "Gentle Stone". This crystals healing properties is very soothing and calming to the nerves. It can uplift a negative disposition and encourage you to take life less seriously. It promotes fidelity in relationships. As a self-healing stone, amber guides the emotions into a clearer mental outlook and to take greater responsibility for one's choices in life. It is also excellent for soothing emotions during post-operative care. Amber is an organic gem. It is fossilized resin from prehistoric pine trees and is mostly from the Baltic Coast although we have young amber coming from Madagascar. In ancient times a form of crystal healing was practiced by grounding or soaking amber and consuming it for illness. Amber is sacred for Native Americans and Eastern Indians. In Mediaeval day's amber was burnt to clear the environment of negativity. To test if amber is authentic place amber in a glass of coke, if it floats it is authentic; if it sinks it is synthetic.

AMETHYST - In the crystal healing circles amethyst is  also known as a "Master Healing Crystal". Amethyst clears and purifies assisting with stress and tension, it soothes and calms the mind, raises the spirit and protects from negative vibrations. Amethyst provides protection and balance during transition periods. It  reduces the feeling of being victimized, giving you a spiritual perspective on life's circumstances. Amethyst is a powerful healing gem with diverse healing properties.  It promotes intuitive and inspired thought. The lavender-pink colour amethyst relates to the Heart chakra, to open and lighten up a betrayed heart and to heal the sense of loss of life and innocence. The blue-red colour amethyst promotes a deep spiritual connection between one's self and one's life challenges, supporting the challenge one has taken on, giving patience and calmness despite overwhelming odds. the Chevron Amethyst (banded white and purple) helps peel off old karmic patterns to promote self-love and the ability to get along with others especially with one's Soul Mate or family members.

APACHE TEARS (transparent Obsidian) -The "Grief Stone". Apache Tears allow for tears to be shed, stimulating emotional spontaneity and the release of barriers that prevent you from experiencing deep sorrow. This stone is excellent for transmuting one's own negativity under stressful situations. Apart from its healing properties, Apache Tears can be excellent talismans of protection from all sorts of negative forces. The Apache Tear is a dark black stone of obsidian and when held up to the light appears transparent. However,  it has been noted that the grief one feels goes into the stone and can turn it opaque.

APOPHYLLITE - Enhances universal love. Apophyllite has been used to facilitate astral travel. It helps one release feelings of insecurity and other emotions that are hard to handle and helps us recognize behaviours / attitudes that need to be corrected. The green variety links us to the nature spirits. A stone attuned to the angelic kingdom. Other than the healing properties already mentioned, this crystal is also known as the "REIKI CRYSTAL" as it enhances the Reiki treatment.

AVENTURINE - Enhances tranquillity and peace. In a crystal healing session the healing properties of aventurine will mostly be used on the heart chakra as it lessens anxiety and fear and protects and clears heart chakra. It also balances energies and is used for increased perception. Aventurine increases opportunities in ones life and promotes balance and healing.

BOJI STONE (limonite) - Apart from the healing properties of this stone, it is also an excellent energy source. Limonite has an electro - magnetic energy field and combines qualities of initiative and independence. It is a very good grounding stone and aligns and balances subtle bodies and chakras. The Boji stone transfers energies from the etheric to the physical body. The Boji Stone is excellent to use during a crystal healing session as it cleans, charges and fills voids within aura. Used in pairs (female - smaller, smoother stone and male larger, rougher stone) they are useful for the removal of energy blockages and balances the yin and yang energies. The Boji stone assists in tissue regeneration.

CALCITE - These energy amplifiers are great to use with other stone in a crystal healing as it will amplify the energies being worked with. Calcite is also used for astral travelling and channelling. It brings  energy that clears and activates all chakras. Calcite is excellent for the studies of arts / sciences. It assists with the kidneys, pancreas and spleen and balances calcium levels.

CARNELIAN - "Stone of Action" Carnelian activates the first, second and third chakras bringing an influx of life force, sexual and creative energies as well as assertive will. Stimulates analytical capabilities and precision and lends courage to "take the leap" and dedicate oneself to a new path. Carnelian can assist those who are unable to decide on a course of action. It provides perceptiveness and awakens inherent talents and skills. It protects against fear and rage and dispels apathy and alleviates sorrow. Carnelian enhances creativity and repairs the subtle bodies. The healing properties of Carnelian are classified as "a general healer" and is therefore an easy stone for beginners in crystal healing to use.

CHRYSOCOLLA - "Stone of Empowerment" of the feminine energies in both men and women. It is the stone of the Goddess and those who resonate with Chrysocolla will likely feel her ancient and enduring energies rising within themselves. Part of the healing properties are easing emotional pain and stimulating the mind, it also balances the feelings and assists with communication (speaking your truth), helping to eliminate confusion. It brings change, success and peace. Chrysocolla attunes one to the earth and can heal the earth. It purifies the home and environment. This stones' crystal healing energies resonates with the pancreas, insulin, blood sugar levels and thyroid.

CITRINE - Citrine opens the inner doors to increased clarity of thought and enhanced creativity. Other than its healing properties, natural Citrine is the great manifesting crystal, allowing one to purify the manifestation channel and bring Divine energy into form through intention and action. Citrine enhances the bodies healing properties and is restful and warming. It helps to detoxify the body. Citrine helps you to develop prosperity, generosity and creativity. It does not hold negativity so does not need to be cleansed.

CORAL - RED CORAL - Is known as the "Woman's Stone". Red Coral quiets the emotions and dispels feelings of despair and despondency. It encourages a passionate energy, and stimulates and strengthens female reproductive organs through tissue regeneration. Red Coral heightens the awareness of the needs of others and helps us to understand how all  life connects. Apart from its healing properties, it also protects us from harm. This stone relates well to the spleen meridian for blood circulation, and to purification of the kidneys and bladder. Red Coral is considered to be "The Blood of Mother Earth" by Native Americans and is considered particularly precious by Tibetan women for menstruation and fertility.

DIAMOND - Never requires recharging. It is known as the "King of Crystals".  Diamonds enhances the powers of other minerals. It represents invincible strength and enables you to withstand adversity. It insures love and harmony and promotes fidelity. It brings trust and emotional confidence hence giving a diamond as an engagement ring. A diamond can dispel anger and it strengthens the will and inspires creativity. Diamonds act as powerful detoxifiers on all levels to the extent that you might have to use other calming stones to modify its action.

EMERALD - Of all the gemstones Emerald is the purest crystalline emanation of the Green Ray. Traditionally known as the "Stone of Successful Love" because of its ability to strengthen and clear the physical and emotional heart centres. It instils loyalty and sensitivity and enhances mental capacity. Emerald brings harmony and eliminates negativity. Other than its healing properties, it also aids meditation and brings luck with legal matters. Emerald speeds cleansing and purifying processes and alleviates hidden fears and anxieties. The emerald is known as a master healing stone.

FLUORITE - This is a very strong healing stone and it is an ideal stone to use in crystal healing for aligning, clearing and balancing the chakras. It brings order to chaos and heightens mental abilities. Fluorite increases concentration and promotes group work. Fluorite encourages innovation and invention and  helps in planning and coordinating resources. It encourages a sense of self worth and facilitates assimilation of new ideas and understanding of the fine levels of awareness. For flawless health, headaches, cold, flue, herpes, ulcers, ears, nose and throat use fluorite.

Colourless - Crown chakra - It clears energies in the aura.

Green - All chakras - It eliminates negativity and cleanses all chakras.

Purple - Third Eye chakra - It promotes intuitiveness.

GARNET - The "Sex Stone" especially for those lacking sexual fulfilment. Garnet strengthens the life force and provides for the spontaneous availability of energy when needed. It fosters romantic love, passion and intimacy. It is also known as the "Stone of Health". It extracts negative energies and transmutes them into useful energies. This gemstone is especially good for the restoration of victimized and  abused women, helping them reclaim lost power. It promotes regeneration of emotional energy and the acceptance of one's thoughts and emotions. Garnet enhances creative powers and provides a protective influence. It stimulates the Kundalini and balances the energy flow. Garnet stabilizes energy devoted to accomplishing one's purpose. It also empowers and strengthens the Root and Navel chakras. Gold attracts and boosts wealth, abundance and health. It enhances mental capacity, promotes creative thinking, stabilizes emotions and purifies the body – an excellent healing stone. It balances the brain and nervous systems and strengthens the immune system. Gold cleans negativity from chakras and works well with other stones.

JADE - This is the "Crystal of Tranquillity". Jade soothes the emotions and helps keep the peace for community relations. It provides a sense of self-worth, self-sufficiency and capability in dealing with any situation. Jade provides self confidence and soothes, heals and balances and increases a sense of belonging. It is believed to promote a long and prosperous life. Jade also assists in the attunement to the needs of others. Jade promotes harmony, balance, and tranquillity through emotional detachment. Jade is excellent for recovery after an unpleasant experience (minor surgery, divorce, funerals, loss of job). See also the healing properties of Amber. It is also known as the "Dream Stone". JASPER - Known as the "Stone of Nurturing". Jasper makes it easier to use one's own power and to know that it cannot be taken away. It calms aggressive energy, and facilitates safety and protection during recovery periods (e.g., from stress, operations, and other life traumas). It facilitates calmness and stability. Jasper is earth's connection with one's higher self and guides. It promotes recovery from hospitalization and is good for the healing of internal organs, nerves, skin disorders.

Jasper is an extremely versatile healing stone and I know of some crystal healers that use jasper exclusively in their crystal healing sessions.

JASPER: BLACK - Grounding, protection, healing and repels negativity.

JASPER: BROWN - Protection and grounding. It is an intense healing stone and assists one to accept responsibility.

JASPER RED - It provides lively fresh energy and reduces feelings of being victimized.

JASPER YELLOW - It balances hormones and protects during travel.

JASPER GREEN - It restores energy and focus during recovery from burnout.

JASPER: GUINEA FOWL - Helps with mental stress. It centres you intellectually and makes it easier for you to be logical.

Keywords - Jasper - Practical, grounding, repairing, nurturing, physical strength and vitality, stabilization of one’s energies, protection and slow steady healing. 

LAPIS LAZULI - This is a stone for total awareness. Lapis Lazuli helps release one from emotional bondage. It stimulates emotional, mental and physical clarity. This stone is also associated with truth, balance and justice and it promotes steadfastness and courage. Lapis promotes serenity and self-acceptance and draws anxieties to the surface. It provides insight and clarity of mind. Lapis Lazuli resonates with the throat, bone marrow, insomnia and ears.

MALACHITE - This beautiful green gemstone is referred to as the "Stone of Loyalty". Malachite boosts inner peace and hope and is associated with growth and abundance. It reveals sub-conscious blocks and apart from its healing properties, is one of the most important crystals for protection it should therefore be worn by the therapist during a crystal healing session. It activates the psychic radar via which one feels danger and offers a "cloak of invincibility" which can keep you from being noticed by someone that poses a threat. Good for circulation problems. Malachite is one of the master healer stones.

QUARTZ: ROSE - "Stone for Universal Love" or "The Love Stone", emits a calming energy, removes negativity. Rose Quartz is a Master Healer and transmutes emotional negativity at all levels. It enhances meditation and healing by harmonizing and balancing energy fluctuations. Rose Quartz embodies the expression "Love Conquers All". It is excellent for calming the Heart and Solar Plexus chakras after situations involving emotional upheaval, chaos, trauma, or crisis and it helps open the heart and teaches tenderness. Rose Quartz allows love to come to the wearers who have trouble finding love within themselves to give to either themselves or to others. This is also a great friendship stone to give to someone you care for. It works with self-image and helps with childhood traumas. Rose Quartz promotes receptiveness to beauty, art, music and the written word. It rejuvenates skin helps with cell impurities and resonates with the kidneys, lungs. Rose Quartz is also soothing to burns. Other than the healing properties it also protects you from electromagnetic emissions so place one next to your computer.

QUARTZ: SMOKY - This stone should be used with caution as the healing properties are very strong. The "Emotional Balancer Crystal". This crystal is an exceptional stabilizer for mood swings and grounds all kinds of negative energy and removes emotional blockages. It is excellent for PMS sufferers and other cranky persons. It is an excellent crystal to use in times of stress, and to rebuild emotional burnout by offering protection during the healing period. Smokey Quartz reduces the fear of failure, unblocks self-limitations, and lets you risk trying some new experiences while enabling the mind to think clearly. It is a protective crystal and promotes business success. It also promotes joy in living and resonates with the hands and feet.

RUBY CRYSTALS - The "Stone of Nobility", gathers and amplifies energy. Ruby discourages violence and enhances one's success. It is an excellent shielding crystal and protects against psychic attack. Not only do you have the benefit of the healing properties of Ruby but it also helps retain wealth and brings light into ones life. Ruby promotes creativity. It encourages wisdom and prophecy and allows one to access ancient wisdom. Apart from the healing properties sapphire is also used for defensive magic.

SELENITE - Inspires universal love and clears away darkness and shadows. Selenite helps us to avoid difficulties and protects us from harm and blame. In a crystal healing session selenite quickly unblocks stagnant and obstinate energy with its rapidly flowing and cooling energy and aids mental and spiritual expansion. Selenite can also be used for meditation and universal consciousness. Other than the crystals healing properties selenite is also an exceptional crystal to use for cleansing all other crystals but it works really well for cleansing and charging Clear Quartz.

SILVER - Silver is used to mirror the soul. It improves speech and eloquence, promoting popularity and provides patience and perseverance. Silver increases perception and augments grounding. Silver protects and nurtures women and draws negative energy from the body and replaces it with positive energy. It is excellent for busy women who find no time for peace, who need to relax and to restore their mental energies. Sodalite helps alleviate insomnia caused by overactive mental chatter.
