The Angels.

The Third Hierarchal Sphere

Heavenly Messengers.

Angels have existed since the beginning of Creation. Within the hierarchies they are the ninth ranking Order of the Angelic Host.

The word angel derives from the Greek "angelos" meaning "messenger."

Scholastic theologians teach that they are mentally superior to humans as mankind was created "a little lower than the angels" (Psalm 8:5) and can travel much faster than the known limitations of the physical universe.

Hierarchy Angels - Angels WebTheologians agreed that angels have no gender.

Whilst artists avoided making the Virgin and saints too attractive, so that inappropriate thoughts would not be aroused in the beholder, no such constraint applied to angels, who have no sex.

Their exceptional beauty was well attested in Scripture. The long plain dress or tunic traditionally given to most angels comes hardly altered from the Byzantine tradition, where it had, if anything, a male connotation. In the Renaissance these were often brightly coloured, but before and after were mostly plain white.

They are the lowest in the hierarchy of positive subtle beings and the most familiar to men.

They are the ones most concerned with the affairs of living things. Everything in creation is looked after by an Angel. Within the category of angels, there are many different kinds, doing and helping with different tasks. They include the Angels of Love, Joy, Courage, Peace, Hope, Faith, Freedom and Harmony.

Deities speak in the language of light whereas we humans speak in the language of sound. Angels therefore act as step-down transformers carrying messages from deities to human beings in a language we can understand. This is primarily through the medium of putting thoughts in our minds.

The primary purpose of Angels is to act as messengers to man.

We find many references in both the Old and New Testament in the Bible but these Angels are never mentioned by name.
