Every human being has the 7 major chakras within. The balance of these chakras is required for a healthy mind, body and soul.
The first chakra is the Root Chakra. It is located at the base of the body near the tail bone of the spine. Red is the colour representing the Root Chakra. It concerns itself with our physical needs: security and survival. For example if a person feels out of place or out of their element, it could be a sign that the root chakra is blocked. If out of place at work, rethink your career. If its home, go for walks, take long drives, look around, see what surroundings make you happy. These changes will aid in balancing this chakra.
The Sacral Chakra is the next chakra, which is located at the sex organs, near the belly button. Orange is the colour representing the Sacral Chakra. This chakra concerns itself with the external world and our emotions. We require this chakra balanced as to connect emotionally to our inner and outer selves. We need to allow ourselves to relax, and learn to trust without fear. By wearing orange coloured clothing, we are able to get some balance, when we are lacking self confidence in all aspect of our lives.
The Solar Plexus Chakra is located between the sternum and the belly. Yellow is the colour representing the Solar Plexus Chakra. When this chakra is unbalanced we sometimes feel the need to have to prove ourselves to everyone, or the other extreme, being overly competitive and wanting to be right. We are able to balance this chakra by sitting in the bright sunlight for short periods throughout the day. Music can also bring balance, listening to rock or pop if requiring to be revved up, or listening to classical or new-age music, if chakra is in need to be calmed down.
The Heart Chakra is located at the chest, over the heart region. Green is the colour representing the Heart Chakra. This chakra governs your inner reality, self perception and how you relate to others. You know this chakra is unbalanced, if you have low self esteem, experience fear and anxiety. This chakra is able to be unblocked by exercising and eating healthier. Basically anything that will aid a healthy heart will cleanse and balance the heart chakra.
The Throat Chakra is located at the base of the throat. Sky Blue is the colour representing the Throat Chakra. What we say and how we say it is reflected by this chakra and whether it is balanced or not. For instance, lying about how you really feel, but stating you are fine when obviously you are not. What’s worse still is hearing lies and rumours about yourself and taking it all in and even being overly self critical, almost believing what is being said can be very harmful. The best way to unblock this chakra is to fill yourself with positive affirmations when feeling negative about all you do.
The Brow Chakra is located in the centre of the forehead, above the eyes. Indigo is the colour representing the Brow Chakra. This chakra beckons us to strive higher for what we want to achieve. When there is not enough energy with this chakra, it manifests itself in lower standards, for example; poor communication and memory problems, hence symptoms of Alzheimer’s disease, Dementia. This chakra can be unblocked by doing activities that stimulate the brain. This can be achieved by completing crossword puzzles and even word searches. It is that simple.
The Crown Chakra is located at the top of the head. Violet is the colour representing the Crown Chakra. A balanced Crown Chakra allows us to feel complete, satisfied with whom we are and what we have achieved in life. This chakra can remain balanced by simply finding the perfect scene for meditation. By regularly meditating with no distracting noise, just the sounds of the crashing waves or the rustling of trees in a park or forest, is enough to keep this chakra open and healthy.
In order for us to be healthy and full of life, all our chakras must be balanced. It is important for us to maintain healthy chakras for survival and total fulfilment in our lives.
