The Seven Basic Chakras

The chakras are energy centres within the body each has a function and a meaning. Emotions also effect the chakras.

1st Chakra {earth} - Red - The root or base chakra located at the base of the spine and is associated with survival. The right to be here, simply to exist, take care of ourselves, and have possessions.
Gemstones - Ruby, Onyx, Black obsidian, Smoky quartz.
Causes of Dis-ease - reluctance or resistance to move on, or change direction or not supporting self.

2nd Chakra {water} - Orange - The sacral or sexual chakra located in the lower abdomen, below the navel. And is associated with emotions and sexuality. The right to to feel, to express and understand ones emotions, needs and wants.
Gemstones - Carnelian, Moonstone, Red tigers eye, Amber, Fire opal, Rose quartz.
Causes of Dis-ease – the inability to take what is needed and leave what is not.

3rd Chakra {fire} - Yellow - The solar plexus Chakra located above the navel at the solar plexus and is associated with the power and the will, the right to act to be innovative and free.
Gemstones - Citrine, Amber, Rutilated quartz, Gold tiger’s eye, Yellow Jasper.
Causes of Dis-ease - experiences through our personal will.

4th Chakra {air} - Green - The heart Chakra located just above the sternum in the middle of the chest and is associated with love and balance.
Gemstones - Emerald, Rose quartz, Aventurine, Rose opal, Malachite.
Causes of Dis-ease - a lack of belief in self, closing down as a defence mechanism, feeling used.

5th Chakra {sound/sky} - Blue - The throat Chakra is located at the base of the throat and is associated with communication and creativity.
Gemstones - Turquoise, Blue lace agate, Sapphire, Chrysocolla.
Causes of Dis-ease - being fearful of developing one’s own personality, fearful of being rejected.

6th Chakra {light} - Indigo or violet - The brow or 3rd eye chakra located at the centre of the forehead between the brows, associated with intuition and imagination.
Gemstones - Lapis Lazuli, Sodalite, Amethyst, Sugilite.
Causes of Dis-ease - a denial of experience.

7th Chakra {thought} - Violet, White, Silver, Gold - The crown Chakra is located at the top of the head, just above and associated with knowledge and understanding.
Gemstones - Amethyst, Clear quartz, Morganite, Rainbow moonstone, Herkimer diamond.
The right to know the right to truth, accurate information, knowledge, and to simply know what is going on, including spiritual knowledge and the right to connect and interpret the divine as one chooses.
