Your Third Eye Chakra or Ajna embodies your ability to expand your mental consciousness in many ways and forms.

It is your connection to the wisdom the universe has to offer and is particularly recognized as the entry point of intuition and inspiration.

The tone of intuition that is associated with your brow chakra differs quite substantially from the intuition of your solar plexus chakra.

The intuition of your third eye chakra is of a higher, more universal and transcendent nature, it provides you with insights relating to the spiritual significance of your life and Life itself.

The word "Ajna", the Sanskrit name for the third eye chakra, translates to "command" or "perception center."

It is composed of two Sanskrit roots:

aj, meaning "to know" or "perceive,"
jna, meaning "command" or "authority."

The Ajna is the center where two of the most important Nadi channels Ida and Pingala meet and cross before entering the crown chakra.

Energy Flow

The energy here pulls inward. It's receptive rather than projective. When it's open, you pick up on things - patterns, connections, truths that aren't obvious. Your perception goes deeper than surface level.

When in harmony and balance, this chakra allows energy to flow freely, supporting mental clarity, enhanced intuition, and a grounded sense of insight into life’s deeper meaning.

So in other words when this chakra is clear, you trust your intuition without second-guessing it constantly. You see situations for what they actually are, not what you want them to be or what others tell you they are. Your judgment sharpens. So does your ability to visualize and imagine.

However this chakra gets clouded when you ignore your instincts too many times. When you override that inner voice telling you something's off. When you rely only on logic and dismiss anything you can't explain rationally. Eventually you stop hearing that quiet knowing altogether.

So if the third eye chakra is blocked or overactive, it may lead to excessive skepticism, confusion, or a disconnection from inner wisdom.

Cultivating this chakra is essential for balanced perspective, inner vision, and spiritual openness in a complex world.

Most people have this chakra either completely dormant or so overactive they can't tell intuition from anxiety.

That pressure between your eyebrows. The fog that makes it hard to think clearly. Usually that's your third eye asking you to pay attention to what you already know but haven't admitted yet.
