Your Solar Plexus Chakra embodies balance, power, and illumination.

This is where your personality that develops during puberty, also referred to as the "EGO", is housed.

Since this chakra of yours relates to your "personal power" to the outside or external world; should you have trouble finding, maintaining or sustaining this power the chances are that you are experiencing a block or some sort of dysfunction in this chakra.

Your third chakra balances your seven chakra power points and is located in your solar plexus region and directly affects your ability to project your will into manifestation.

The word "Manipura," the Sanskrit name for the third chakra, translates to "city of jewels" or "lustrous gem."

It is composed of two Sanskrit words:

mani, meaning "gem" or "jewel,"
pura, meaning "city" or "place."

Solar Plexus Energy Flow

The energy here moves outward. It radiates from your core in all directions, like the sun. When it's strong, you feel capable. Decisive. Like you can handle whatever comes at you.

The Solar Plexus gets weakened when you give your power away. When you let others make decisions for you, when you second-guess yourself constantly, when you swallow your voice instead of speaking up. All that drains your solar plexus, turning that fire into something dim and flickering.

So when it is out of balance, this chakra may cause low self-esteem, control issues, or a lack of direction. An imbalanced solar plexus chakra can create feelings of insecurity or even a heightened need for validation. Establishing a balanced solar plexus chakra is vital for fostering healthy self-esteem, clear decision-making, and personal growth.

When this chakra is balanced, you know who you are. You set boundaries without guilt. You take responsibility for your life without blaming others or making excuses. Your self-esteem sits solid - not inflated, not collapsed, just steady.

So when open and balanced, it radiates vitality and strength, enabling clarity of purpose and alignment with one's values. It supplies energy to both body and mind, empowering us to take action and embrace life with confidence.

Most people either overdo this chakra or shut it down completely. Either trying to control everything around them or feeling powerless to change anything.

That tight band around your ribs. The knot in your upper stomach that shows up when you're anxious. That's usually your solar plexus holding tension it doesn't need.

Your digestive system is contained in your abdomen where your solar plexus chakra is located. Just as your physical digestive system transmutes and extracts energy from food, so too does your solar plexus chakra extract and store Chi, Prana, Ki or Life Force Energy.

This is the energy that permeates all life; where there is Chi or Prana there is life.
