Your Sacral Chakra is the home of your creative and sexual energies, it is dedicated to your relationships to people and circumstances, pro-creation - your ability to nurture and give birth to the seeds of life - and to your exploring of many forms of sacred union such as:

your yin-yang balance including the sacred masculine/feminine dance,
your conscious sensuality,
and your sexuality.

Your sacral or sexual chakra is positioned close to your Muladhara (root chakra) and acts as your energy storage center.

It is from this chakra that your energy gets distributed throughout your whole chakra energy system. All available energy is pumped from the base of your spine all the way up through your subtle energy system to your brain, keeping your brain young, vibrant, and nourished.

Your sacral chakra also relates to issues of power in the external world - specifically, your financial and sexual power as well as your power in terms of business and social interactions.

Your sacral chakra is also associated with your expression of desire, intimacy and sensual connections, the undisturbed flow of your emotions and the expression of your feelings.

It is also a very sacred and powerful place to manifest your dreams and desires, as well as work through your fears and boundaries.

As it’s directly related to your relationships, your creativity, pro-creation, sexual energy and virility, it makes total sense that an open sacral chakra means you are able to feel, emotionally or physically, connect to others, emotionally and physically and generally be open to the world, to manifest your desires, and to ‘let go’.

Svadhisthana. In Sanskrit, that basically means "your own place" - the spot where you actually live, energetically speaking.

Sva - self, your own
Adhisthana - dwelling, seat, home base

Sacral Chakra Energy Flow

This is your flow center.

The energy here doesn't move up or down like some other chakras. It moves in circles, in waves. Like water finding its way around rocks.

When it's open, things process naturally. Feelings move through instead of getting stuck. Ideas show up. Desire feels straightforward instead of tangled up in shame or fear.
